KATRITA BENEFIT DANCE
Saturday, January 14, 2006
6:30 to 10:30 (central time)
The Starlite Dance Club of Auburn and the American Red Cross Lee
County Chapter cordially invites you to attend the KATRITA (for
Hurricanes Katrina and Rita survivors) BENEFIT DANCE at the Jan
Dempsey Arts Center, 222 E. Drake Avenue, Auburn, Alabama (501-2963).
During the evening we will have demonstrations: Cajun, Square,
Ballroom. Instructors will be available for casual lessons. The Red
Cross staff will be selling tickets for a Fifty/Fifty drawing that
will take place before the last dance (you must be present to win)
and one lucky person will win half of the money collected for the
drawing with the other half going to the Red Cross. Dress is casual
and we ask only that you do not wear sneakers. Singles are welcome.
The KATRITA BENEFIT DANCE will be a little different than other
dances in the area as ALL people who attend, including Starlite Club
members, instructors and demonstrators, will pay the $10 admission
fee (cash, check or credit card) to the Red Cross. We will have door
prizes throughout the evening (you must be present to win). Finger
foods and beverages are being donated by local merchants and Starlite
Dance Club members.
Many months have elapsed since Katrina and Rita. Some people were
able to return to life as they knew it but the vast majority of our
affected neighbors are still having difficulties. We do not want to
forget them and are hoping that you will join us for a fun-filled
evening, at the end of which we hope to have made a sizable
contribution to the Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund.
