Milonga Fundamentals Workshop :: Part II :: Saturday, March 1 3-5pm

This will be a continuation of our last workshop with a quick review of prior workshop material and then continuing with more cool stuff.

If you didn’t already know it, milonga is "fun" where tango is more "serious". Milonga is also "easy" – it’s just stepping on every beat.

It’s okay if you missed the first workshop. The only pre-requisite for this workshop is at least four weeks of tango fundamentals.

Denise will be back, so we’re sure to have warm cookies! Milonga and cookies….who could ask for more?

Cost: $30 per person

Friday Social at CSU :: March 21, 6-9pm :: Introduction to Tango, Open House and a MILONGA!

This is a fantastic opportunity to find out more about this beautiful and elegant dance we call Argentine Tango. The event will be in Room 214 [the large dance studio] of the Elizabeth Bradley Turner Center [Continuing Education] on the CSU campus. The format will be similar to our Tango & Dessert event – an open house, with an introductory class from 6-7pm. Then from 7-9pm, we would like to invite all AT dancers (Montgomery, Auburn, Birmingham?) to come and dance socially (a Milonga).

While the milonga is going on, Denise and I will be answering questions and helping attendees with their basic tango. We would also like to ask our intermediate students to join in and help out as teaching assistants in between their dancing. If we have a large turnout, it will be difficult for the two of us to provide personal attention to everyone, so we would greatly appreciate your help. The room is large enough to have a social ronda on one side, with a small class/instruction on the other side. And, the floor is great! Pergo/Faux Wood – not that sticky vinyl tile we are used to.

This event will be attended by CSU Students, Faculty and Staff, as well as the general public. It’s a prequel to our beginner classes at CSU in May and June.

It’s a big opportunity to showcase AT in Columbus – and we’d like you all to be a big part of it! Please add this event to your calendar.

Cost: I’m not sure, but I think it will be $5 or $8 and can be paid at the door.
